About the role n
Establish NQWLS's new Mackay presence, delivering free, trauma-informed legal services in family law and domestic violence. Provide focused legal advice, manage selective casework, and lead regional outreach, community legal education, and policy advocacy without billable targets.
Duties n
n
Deliver practical legal advice and casework for family law and domestic violence matters.
n
Draft legal documentation, correspondence, and advocate on behalf of clients.
n
Lead regional outreach, community legal education, and remote duty lawyer services.
n
Author submissions for research, policy development, and systemic law reform initiatives.
n
Build local stakeholder networks across community organisations and government agencies.
n
Skills & experience n
n
Bachelor of Law and unrestricted QLD Supreme Court/High Court Practising Certificate.
n
Current C Class Driver Licence and QLD Blue Card (or ability to obtain).
n
Practical post-admission experience in family law, domestic violence, or community legal sector.
n
Expertise delivering trauma-informed advice to culturally diverse clients.
n
Strong decision-making,



autonomous work, and multidisciplinary collaboration capabilities.

You'll receive
an above-award salary of $115,700 – $120,800 + *****% Super
