Product Manager – within AI / Engineering Technology

We're working with an innovative Cambridge-based technology company developing advanced AI and machine learning software that helps engineering teams make better design and performance decisions.
n
Due to continued growth, they're looking for a hands-on Product Manager to join their Product team and play a key role in shaping both product strategy and day-to-day delivery.
n
The role
n
This is a highly collaborative role working closely with Software Engineering, Machine Learning, UX and commercial teams, as well as customers.
n
You'll translate customer needs and product strategy into clear, actionable requirements for technical teams, while owning the backlog, roadmap and prioritisation process.
n
You'll be expected to get into the detail – writing requirements and tickets, working in Jira, supporting discovery and working closely with engineers and ML specialists to understand technical challenges and make informed product decisions.
n
An key part of the role is becoming a trusted, go-to Product person within the business, particularly for the technical teams.



You'll need to be someone colleagues can approach for clarity around priorities, requirements and product direction.

The candidate
n
We're looking for a Product Manager/Product Owner with experience in a technical B2B software environment and a strong track record of working closely with engineering teams.
n
You'll ideally have:
n
n
Strong hands-on Product Management experience across discovery, requirements, prioritisation and delivery
n
Experience managing product roadmaps and backlogs using tools such as Jira
n
The technical fluency to engage confidently with Software Engineers and ML/Data teams
n
Excellent customer and user focus, with the ability to turn customer problems into product requirements
n
Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills
n
Experience working in a scale-up, start-up or fast-moving environment
n
n
Experience with machine learning, data science, optimisation or engineering software would be advantageous, although industry background is not essential. Experience working within a small-medium sized company is likely to be just as important.
n
We're particularly interested in people who have demonstrated the ability to learn new technical domains quickly and who genuinely enjoy being close to the product and delivery detail.
