We are seeking a
Qualified Baker/Pastry Chef
to join the team at Bake My Life. This is a
casual position
based in
Ballina, NSW
.
What you'll be doing
Preparing and baking a variety of bread, cakes, pastries and other baked goods according to established recipes and quality standards
Creating specialty pastries and decorative baked items, ensuring presentation meets company standards
Operating and maintaining baking equipment, including ovens, mixers and proofing chambers
Monitoring baking times and temperatures to ensure consistent quality and food safety
Preparing ingredients, including measuring, mixing and preparing doughs and batters
Maintaining cleanliness and hygiene standards throughout the baking area and kitchen
Working collaboratively with other team members to meet daily production targets
Adhering to all food safety regulations and best practices
What we're looking for
Formal qualification in baking and/or pastry chef training from a recognised culinary institution or equivalent hands‐on experience
Proven experience working in a professional bakery or pastry kitchen environment
Strong knowledge of baking techniques, ingredients and food safety practices
Ability to work efficiently and maintain high standards under pressure




Excellent attention to detail and a commitment to quality in all baked products
Good physical stamina, as the role involves standing for extended periods and lifting ingredients
Reliable and punctual, with flexibility to work casual hours as required
Solid communication skills and the ability to work well within a team
Food handling certification or willingness to obtain certification
Experience with specialty items such as artisan breads, croissants or wedding cakes is preferred
