About the role

The Central Referral Unit (CRU) Registered Nurse provides clinical assessment with clinical competence and capability, optimising patient access to care services. The CRU Registered Nurse works in partnership with the multidisciplinary team to support patient focused care.

The Registered Nurse within the Central Referral Unit is responsible for the accurate assessment, processing and allocation of patient referrals in accordance with CPC guidelines, under the direction of the Clinical Nurse. This position performs as part of the Central Referral Nursing Team and reports to the Nurse Unit Manager (NUM) of Specialist Outpatient Department. This position facilitates and promotes patient safety and quality of care. This is evidenced by educational preparation, continuing professional development, adhering to relevant legislation and the context of clinical knowledge application.
