About the role

Wynnum Dentists is seeking an experienced Dental Assistant to join our friendly team in Wynnum, QLD. This is a casual position offering flexibility and variety in your work schedule. As an experienced Dental Assistant, you will play a vital role in supporting our dentists and dental hygienists, ensuring that our patients receive exceptional care in a welcoming and efficient environment. This position is essential to the smooth operation of our practice and directly contributes to patient satisfaction and clinical outcomes.

What you'll be doing

- Assisting dentists and dental hygienists during clinical procedures and examinations

- Preparing treatment rooms, sterilising instruments, and maintaining infection control standards

- Taking and processing dental radiographs (X-rays) as required

- Recording patient information and maintaining accurate clinical notes

- Managing patient flow and scheduling appointments efficiently

- Providing chairside support during various dental treatments and procedures

- Educating patients on oral hygiene practices and post-treatment care

- Restocking supplies and ensuring the clinical environment is well-organised

- Contributing to a positive patient experience through professional and empathetic communication

What we're looking for

- Proven experience working as a Dental Assistant in a busy dental practice

- Current registration or eligibility for registration with the Australian Dental Council (ADC) or equivalent qualification

- Strong knowledge of dental terminology, procedures, and infection control protocols

- Proficiency in using dental practice management software and digital systems

- Excellent communication skills with patients and clinical team members

- Ability to work efficiently under pressure whilst maintaining high standards of patient care





- Physical capability to perform duties such as prolonged standing and assisting with patient positioning

- A genuine passion for dentistry and commitment to patient wellbeing

- Current First Aid and CPR certification (preferred)

- Experience with radiography and intraoral procedures (preferred)
