OneStep Group delivers cyber security and technology solutions to enterprise and government clients across Australia. We’re looking for an Associate Security Engineer to join our Security Operations Centre (SOC).

Reporting to the SOC Team Lead, you’ll help monitor and investigate security alerts, respond to incidents and support our managed security clients. You’ll also work alongside experienced engineers to improve security tools, detections and automation.

What you’ll do

- Monitor, investigate and escalate security alerts and incidents.
- Support security platforms across client network, cloud and endpoint environments.
- Help improve detection rules, threat hunting queries and automated workflows.
- Assist with security investigations, platform integrations and technical documentation.
- Take part in rostered or after-hours support when required.

What you’ll bring





- Around 1–2 years’ experience in a SOC or similar cyber security role. Relevant hands-on or internship experience will also be considered.
- Familiarity with SIEM or XDR tools, ideally Microsoft Sentinel or Defender XDR.
- An understanding of networking and security fundamentals.
- Some experience with KQL, PowerShell or Python, or a robust interest in learning.
- Clear communication, sound judgement and a willingness to keep developing your skills.
