The role
As Measure Australia's Account Executive, you own new business from the first call to the signed purchase order - build your own pipeline, scope jobs with our technical team, price them, close them and keep the client coming back.
Most of the day is on the phone with surveyors, engineers, development managers and procurement leads about live projects, and the deals you close are flown and delivered by our own crews within weeks.
You report directly to the General Manager and work alongside him on larger pursuits.
Measure Australia captures survey-grade LiDAR and aerial imagery for the people who design, build and operate large sites - land surveyors, renewables developers, mining and quarry operators, engineering consultancies, utilities and councils. The product is technical, the buyer list is short and serious, and the sales function has real say in what we fly and for whom.
What you'll be selling
Measure Australia flies drone and fixed-wing LiDAR and photogrammetry across Australia and processes the data in-house.
Our clients use it for:
- Topographic survey of large or vegetated sites where ground survey is slow, unsafe or uneconomic: solar and wind farm development, mine and quarry planning, road and rail corridors, subdivisions.
- Volumetrics and monitoring : monthly stockpile and pit surveys for quarries and mines, progress and earthworks tracking on construction sites.
- Corridor and asset capture : powerline and vegetation-encroachment LiDAR, facade and roof inspection, condition assessment.
Deliverables are the things a surveyor or engineer already uses: classified point clouds, DEMs and DTMs, contours, orthomosaics, volume reports. Buyers are technical (surveyors, project engineers, development managers, procurement) and they respond to people who understand the job.
What you'll do
- Prospect every day. Run structured outbound to a defined target list across renewables, mining and quarries, engineering consultancies and surveying firms, backed by LinkedIn and email sequences.
The baseline is 50 outbound calls a day. We track connect rate alongside it, and the dial target flexes with it. We measure activity as well as outcomes.
- Qualify hard, quote fast. Scope the site and the deliverable with the client, check feasibility with our Chief Remote Pilot and geospatial team, and get a written proposal out within 48 hours.
- Close. Run the commercial conversation, handle procurement, negotiate scope and terms, and secure the PO. You own the number.
- Work the existing base. Reactivate dormant accounts, grow repeat programs, and build partner relationships with land surveyors who resell or subcontract our capture.
- Keep HubSpot honest. Every call logged, every deal staged correctly, loss reasons recorded, forecast defensible on a Monday morning.
- Hand over cleanly. Brief the operations team so the job that gets flown is the job that was sold, then stay close through delivery so the client comes back.
- Get out of the office when it counts. Site visits, client meetings and the occasional conference, mostly NSW and QLD.
Start your cover letter with an answer to the question - "When should a client choose LiDAR over photogrammetry for a topographic survey?"
Who you are
Must have
- 3 or more years closing B2B deals in the $10k to $200k range, with a track record you can show.
- Experience selling to technical or industrial buyers: survey, geospatial, engineering services, construction technology, mining services, industrial equipment or SaaS sold to engineers.
- Genuine comfort with high-volume outbound. You have run 50 dials a day before, you know your own connect rate,
and you know what a good week of prospecting looks like.
- Consultative style. You ask about the site, the deliverable and the deadline before you talk about the drone.
- Transparent written English. Your proposals and emails are short, specific and get answered.
- CRM discipline. HubSpot or equivalent, used properly, without being chased.
- Based in Sydney, with a driver's licence and willingness to travel a few days a month.
Good to have
- A background in surveying, civil or geospatial work, or a network in renewables, mining, utilities or local government.
- Familiarity with LiDAR, photogrammetry or GIS outputs.
- Tender and procurement-portal experience.
What we offer
- Base salary plus superannuation and uncapped commission, paid on closed and delivered revenue.
- A product with a five-year-high win rate and a client list that includes major engineering consultancies, renewables developers and national quarry operators.
- The GM as your direct manager and active partner on large pursuits, not a layer between you and the decisions.
- The tools to do the job: HubSpot, Aircall, LinkedIn Sales Navigator, Clay and HeyReach for list building and sequencing, and an in-house geospatial team to scope with.
- A small, safety-first team where the sales function has real influence on what we fly, where and for whom.
- The backing of the Asseti Group, with the autonomy of a business that decides things in a week, not a quarter.
What this role is not
- It is not a BDR seat that hands qualified meetings to someone else. You source and you close.
- It is not an account-management role sitting on inbound. Marketing supports you; it does not feed you.
How to apply Send your CV and five lines on the biggest deal you closed in the last two years: how you found it, how long it took, what nearly killed it, and what it was worth.
