About Us

MAS Electrical Installations is a Perth-based electrical contracting business delivering installation, maintenance and project work across the commercial, industrial and residential sectors. Our sister company, Solar Care WA, specialises in solar installation, servicing and maintenance. Both businesses operate from our Balcatta office, where we are a close-knit team that takes pride in doing quality work and looking after our people.

As both businesses continue to grow, we are looking for an experienced Accounts Payable & Payroll Officer to join our team.

The Role

Reporting to the director, you will take ownership of the day-to-day accounts payable function and the weekly payroll run across both entities — MAS Electrical Installations and Solar Care WA — ensuring suppliers and staff are paid accurately and on time. This is a hands-on role in a busy office where accuracy, organisation and a friendly approach to supplier relationships really matter.

Key Responsibilities

· Process supplier invoices, purchase orders and credit notes across both companies, accurately and on time

· Match invoices to purchase orders and delivery dockets, and resolve any discrepancies

· Prepare and process weekly EFT payment runs

· Process weekly payroll for both companies, including timesheets, superannuation and related reconciliations

· Lodge quarterly Long Service Leave returns for employees

· Check and approve apprentice timesheets

· Keep up to date with government updates to pay rate increases and apply them correctly

· Prepare and lodge government incentive claims for the company's apprentices

· Reconcile supplier statements and follow up outstanding items

· Set up and maintain supplier accounts and records

· Respond to supplier and internal queries in a professional and timely manner





· Complete month-end close, including accruals and AP reporting

· Prepare the yearly BAS and assist with end-of-year reporting requirements

· Liaise with the company's external accountant on BAS, payroll and year-end queries

About You

· Two or more years' experience in an accounts payable or similar finance role

· Hands-on payroll experience, including timesheets, superannuation and PAYG obligations

· Experience in the construction, trades or electrical industry (highly regarded but not essential)

· Confident using accounting software such as MYOB and SimPRO

· Strong computer skills, including Microsoft Office and the ability to pick up new systems quickly

· Strong attention to detail and a high standard of accuracy

· Well organised, with the ability to prioritise and meet deadlines in a busy environment

· Comfortable managing finance functions across two related entities and keeping records separate and accurate

· Clear communicator who enjoys working as part of a small team

· A positive, can-do attitude and a good sense of humour — we work hard, but we like to have a laugh along the way
