Are you a Beauty or Dermal Therapy graduate who wants to become genuinely valuable at treating skin — not just learn how to perform treatments?

ROC Skin & Body is looking for someone at the beginning of their career who wants to develop into a confident, highly skilled Skin Therapist, with a particular focus on acne, skin assessment and professional extraction.

You don’t need years of experience.

You don’t need to know everything.

We are willing to teach the right person.

What matters much more to us is that you are careful, curious, responsible and genuinely care about your clients.

This is more than an assistant role

You’ll start by learning how our clinic operates: preparing treatment rooms, infection control, assisting with clients, organising products and supporting treatments.

But that is only the beginning.

As your skills develop, Lisa will personally train and mentor you in:

- Skin consultation and assessment
- Acne and congested skin
- Professional acne extraction
- Treatment planning
- Understanding skin recovery and healing
- Recognising when skin is ready for treatment — and when it isn't
- Long-term acne management
- Client communication and follow-up
- Ethical treatment and product recommendations

The goal is to gradually develop you from Clinic Assistant → Skin Therapist → Acne Therapist, as your skills and clinical judgement grow. We’re not interested in rushing that process.

We want to help you become someone who understands why you are doing a treatment, not simply how to perform it.

You’ll learn to think clinically about skin A big part of your training will be learning to answer questions like:

Why would you treat this skin today?

Why would you leave another skin alone?

How much treatment can this skin tolerate?

How can you tell whether the skin has recovered properly?

When should you progress a treatment — and when should you back off?

These are skills that take real clients, repetition,



mentoring and experience to develop.

You won't be expected to know all of this when you join us.

You will be expected to want to learn.

You’ll receive hands-on training in acne extraction

Extraction is an important part of our work at ROC, and it is a skill that takes time to master.

You will practise.

You will receive feedback.

You will sometimes be asked to do something again.

And gradually, your hands, judgement and confidence will improve.

If becoming genuinely excellent at a skill excites you, you may fit very well here.

Who we're looking for

This opportunity may suit you if you are:

- A recent Diploma of Beauty Therapy graduate
- A Dermal/Skin Therapy graduate wanting to specialise in acne
- An early-career therapist who wants much deeper experience with skin
- Someone who enjoys learning and wants mentorship rather than simply another beauty job

Previous acne or extraction experience is helpful, but not essential. Your attitude matters more to us than an impressive CV.

We're looking for someone who:

- Takes pride in doing things properly
- Notices small details
- Asks questions when they don't know something
- Is honest when they make a mistake
- Responds well to feedback
- Is naturally clean, organised and careful
- Genuinely cares about people
- Wants to keep improving their craft

The small things matter here Some days you will be learning about acne and treatment planning.

Other days you may be cleaning equipment, preparing rooms, organising products or writing detailed client notes.

We don't see those as unimportant jobs.

They're part of becoming a professional therapist whom clients and colleagues can trust.





We are looking for someone who takes the same care with the small things as they do with the engaging things.

About ROC Skin & Body

ROC Skin & Body is a Melbourne skin clinic with a strong focus on acne, acne extraction, acne scarring and skin health.

Many of our clients come to us after struggling with their skin for years.

That means our work isn't simply about performing treatments.

We listen. We assess carefully. We follow the skin's response. And we make decisions based on what we believe will give the client the best long-term outcome.

ROC was founded by Lisa in 2017.

After years of working with skin, particularly acne and reactive skin, Lisa is now looking for someone she can personally mentor and eventually trust to care for ROC clients independently.

For the right person, there is an opportunity to grow with the clinic rather than remain an assistant.

Employment: Casual

Location: Melbourne CBD

Pay: $38–$40/hour + super, depending on qualification and experience

Training: Hands-on training and ongoing mentoring provided

Career pathway: Clinic Assistant → Skin Therapist → Acne Therapist

Minimum requirement: Diploma of Beauty Therapy or an equivalent recognised qualification suitable for the treatments required in the role.
