About the role

This is an entry-level traineeship, giving the successful applicant the opportunity to gain practical, hands-on experience in a busy small-business environment while working towards a Certificate III in Business Administration. You will work alongside the existing administration team and studio owner, gradually developing skills across customer service, office administration, enrolments, accounts, events, social media and the day-to-day operations of the dance studio.

Key responsibilities

- Welcoming students, parents and visitors and assisting at the front desk
- Responding to phone, email and in-person enquiries
- Assisting with student enrolments, registrations and account administration
- Learning to use dance studio management and administration systems
- General office administration, filing and data entry
- Assisting with class timetables, workshops, competitions and studio events
- Preparing correspondence and information for families
- Assisting with Canva graphics, social media and studio promotions
- Helping with concerts, examinations, ELITE teams and other TDA events
- Supporting the administration team with the many different jobs involved in running a busy dance studio

- Friendly, bubbly and confident communicating with people
- Reliable, organised and willing to take responsibility for your work
- Keen to learn and develop current skills




- Comfortable working in a busy environment where priorities can change quickly
- Able to show initiative while also being happy to ask questions and learn
- Confident using computers and willing to learn new programs and systems
- Familiar with programs such as Word, Excel, Google Workspace or Canva – or keen to learn
- Comfortable working around children and families
- Able to work independently as your skills and confidence develop
- Must hold, or be willing and eligible to obtain, a current Working With Children Check
