CBR Power Services | Townsville, QLD | Commencing January 2027

CBR Power Services is seeking an Adult Electrical Apprentice to join our growing team and build a career in the specialist field of High Voltage testing, commissioning and maintenance.

You’ll work alongside experienced HV technicians across power stations, mine sites, renewable energy facilities, Defence sites and major industrial projects throughout Queensland and interstate.

What you'll learn

Your apprenticeship will expose you to:

- Transformer testing and maintenance
- Protection relay, CT and VT testing
- HV circuit breaker and switchgear testing
- Electrical commissioning and diagnostic testing
- Transformer oil processing and condition assessment
- Specialist test equipment and software, including OMICRON and Megger
- Major mining, generation, industrial, Defence and renewable energy projects

You’ll be mentored by highly skilled tradespeople and gain specialist experience that isn’t commonly available in a standard electrical apprenticeship.

About you

We’re looking for someone who has gained some life and workplace experience and is ready to commit to a long-term technical career.

You’ll ideally be

- Mechanically and technically minded
- Curious and interested in understanding how things work
- Comfortable with computers and technical software
- Reliable, safety focused and detail oriented
- Willing to ask questions and solve problems




- Willing to travel for project work
- Committed to learning and developing your skills

Previous electrical, mechanical, instrumentation, mining or industrial experience is an advantage, but not essential.

Requirements

- Current Australian driver's licence
- Australian working rights
- Ability to obtain required site medicals, inductions and clearances
- Willingness to travel
- Available to commence January 2027
