About the role The Mechanic position is responsible for performing quality and timely maintenance and repairs to all AgField Services owned or managed plant and equipment including trucks, tractors, sprayers, harvesting equipment, pumps and bores as required. The Mechanic will provide a high standard of workmanship and deliver solutions that consider quality, timeliness and cost. The Mechanic is expected to consider business operations and prioritise jobs and tasks to ensure operations can be carried out in line with business requirements.

Key responsibilities

- Diagnose mechanical faults using elimination techniques, strong communication skills with operators, seeking guidance from local service providers and a common sense approach
- Prioritise repairs in accordance with farm requirements
- Attend farming sites to diagnose and repair breakdowns in field as required
- Liaise with local service providers to source parts and seek solutions
- Carry out repairs to agricultural equipment to a high standard and ensure all componentry is correctly reassembled, protected for use and performing to expected standard
- Detect where common,



recurring or ongoing faults occur across fleet to seek solution with view to prevent and pre-empt ongoing failures, breakdowns and damages
- Deliver value driven solutions with consideration for cost of repair, timeliness and workplace priorities
- Assist with carrying out scheduled services to machinery in timely manner and as per service schedule requirements
- Carry out mechanical safety checks, tests and inspections to ensure vehicles, machinery and plant are safe for use and performing as expected prior to tagging back into use
- Accurately record service and repairs in maintenance record keeping system

About you

- Recognised qualification in an appropriate mechanical discipline
- 5+ years experience in an agricultural or similar mechanical/maintenance role
- Diligence and attention to quality of workmanship
- A sense of urgency and ability to prioritise in a fast paced and changing environment
- Ability to work well in a team environment
- Self-motivated
- Strong communication skills
- Accurate record keeping skills
- Willingness to travel as required
- Driver's licence
