Coastal Steelfixing is a leading supplier and installer of reinforcing steel across South East Queensland. We pride ourselves on maintaining a protected, efficient and well-organised operation, and we're looking for a hands-on Asset Maintenance Officer to help keep our equipment, vehicles, workshop and facilities operating at their best.

About the Role

This is a diverse, practical role suited to someone who enjoys variety and takes pride in maintaining equipment, machinery and facilities.

You'll be responsible for the upkeep of company assets, workshop equipment, fleet vehicles and property infrastructure while also assisting with general operational and labouring tasks as required.

No two days are the same. You might be servicing equipment, repairing workshop assets, operating machinery, maintaining vehicles, welding repairs, improving site facilities, or helping keep the yard running smoothly.

Key Responsibilities

- Conduct routine maintenance and repairs on company assets and equipment.
- Perform basic servicing and preventative maintenance on fleet vehicles, trailers and plant.
- Maintain and repair workshop equipment including welders, cutting equipment and cage machines.
- Complete general property maintenance including fencing, gates, lighting and yard improvements.
- Operate forklifts and other equipment where licensed and competent.
- Assist with loading, unloading and movement of materials.




- Maintain workshop and yard housekeeping standards.
- Identify and report maintenance requirements and equipment defects.
- Coordinate minor repairs and liaise with suppliers and contractors when required.
- Assist with general labouring and operational support tasks across the business.

About You You are practical, self-motivated and enjoy solving problems. You're happy to get your hands dirty, can work independently and take pride in maintaining equipment and facilities to a high standard.

Essential Requirements

✅ Current Driver Licence

✅ Mechanical aptitude and experience using hand and power tools

✅ Previous experience in a maintenance, workshop, labouring or similar role

✅ Strong commitment to workplace safety

✅ Ability to work independently and manage competing priorities

✅ Physically fit and capable of manual work

Highly Regarded

⭐ Forklift Licence (LF)

⭐ Welding or fabrication experience

⭐ Experience servicing vehicles, trailers or machinery

⭐ Trade qualification or relevant maintenance experience

⭐ Construction, manufacturing or workshop background
