About the role

This role supports the credit assessment process by reviewing broker-submitted applications, ensuring correct structuring, verifying key lending information, and applying policy and risk frameworks to ensure applications are accurately prepared for credit decisioning. It is expected that the Assessment support officer will defer applications from Brokers and Home Lenders where they are submitted with deficiencies.

Build strong broker relationships by providing education and guidance on deal structuring, application preparation and lending requirements. Act as a key contact for broker queries, ensuring applications are accurately constructed, fully documented and ready for assessment. Complete verification checks across supporting documents, identification, security, liabilities and application data, while ensuring sensitive information such as TFNs is removed from all documents, histories and systems.

Assess applications for product suitability, credit risk, policy compliance, fraud indicators and responsible lending obligations. Identify and escalate exceptions or high-risk matters,



address deficiencies through appropriate conditions, and prepare complete, compliant and decision-ready submissions for Credit Officers. Prioritise applications to support timely progression through the assessment pipeline, minimise rework and delays, and complete all required certifications and training within expected timeframes.

About You

- Experience with the loan assessment process
- Exceptional customer service skills
- Sound understanding of residential mortgage lending
- Intermediate Microsoft Office skills
- Knowledge of the National Consumer Credit Act and Responsible Lending Guidelines
