Are you an Assistant Accountant ready for your next contract? Hunter Manning are partnering with a respected Perth business to find someone who can step in and make an immediate impact. You'll be part of an approachable, close-knit finance team, supporting month-end, reconciliations and reporting.

The ideal person is proactive, quick to pick up current systems and processes, and takes real care in the quality of their work.

What you'll be doing

- Assisting with month-end close, including preparing journals, accruals and prepayments
- Preparing and reviewing balance sheet reconciliations
- Completing bank reconciliations and resolving any discrepancies
- Maintaining the fixed asset register and processing depreciation
- Preparing GST and BAS workings for review
- Supporting accounts payable and receivable when needed
- Assisting with management reporting and basic variance analysis
- Helping prepare audit schedules and supporting documentation




- Answering finance queries from internal staff and external stakeholders

What you'll need

- At least 2 years' experience in an Assistant Accountant or similar role
- A degree in Accounting or Finance, or working towards CA/CPA (preferred)
- Confidence with accounting software such as MYOB, Xero, SAP or similar
- Intermediate to advanced Excel skills, including VLOOKUPs and pivot tables
- A solid understanding of month-end processes and balance sheet reconciliations
- Strong attention to detail and good organisational skills
- Clear, friendly communication skills
- The ability to work independently and manage your own deadlines
- Availability to start immediately or at short notice
- Full Australian working rights and based in Perth
