The Reef Authority is seeking an experienced capital works project officer to support the delivery of the Aquarium Project. You’ll coordinate business administration, monitor budgets and project costs, develop asset management processes, and prepare reporting that supports decisions and accountability.
You’ll bring experience in business administration, project governance and financial management, along with strong analytical, systems and organisational skills. An understanding of public sector governance and experience supporting asset management activities will help you succeed.
This is a part-time, non-ongoing position in Townsville until 25 October 2028.
What you'll do
- Coordinate business administration to support the planning and delivery of the Aquarium Project.
- Monitor budgets, expenditure, commitments and forecasts, and provide financial reporting to support decisions and accountability.
- Develop and implement asset management processes, including asset registers, data, lifecycle considerations and handover documentation.
- Identify and monitor financial and project risks and issues, and prepare reports and briefs to support mitigation and decision-making.
- Support financial and asset activities across the broader Business Operations team.
What you'll bring
- Experience in business administration, project governance and financial management, including budgets, cost tracking, reporting and procurement administration.
- Strong organisation, attention to detail and judgement when managing competing priorities and maintaining accurate records.
- Analytical and systems skills, including advanced Microsoft Office skills, particularly Excel, and experience with financial, asset, document and project management systems.
- Experience supporting asset management activities, from maintaining asset data and registers to planning handover into operational management.
- An understanding of public sector governance, compliance and accountability, with a collaborative and adaptable approach.
Essential Requirements
- A qualification in project management, construction management, engineering, architecture, or a related discipline.
