Alma Surfers Paradise is a vibrant beachfront restaurant located in the heart of Surfers Paradise. Open for breakfast, lunch, and dinner, we are passionate about delivering exceptional food, great coffee, outstanding cocktails, and memorable guest experiences in a fast-paced coastal setting.

The Role

We are looking for a hands-on Assistant Manager who leads from the front. You will be responsible for running service, supporting and motivating the team, maintaining high standards throughout the venue, and ensuring every guest receives exceptional service. Strong barista experience is essential, as you will regularly support coffee service during busy periods and help maintain quality and consistency across all areas of the business.

Key Responsibilities

- Lead service and ensure smooth day-to-day venue operations.

- Support, motivate, and develop the front-of-house team.

- Deliver exceptional guest experiences and professionally resolve customer concerns.

- Assist with staff training and onboarding.

- Support rostering and labour management.

- Assist with ordering, stock control, and inventory management.

- Maintain high standards of cleanliness, presentation, and attention to details throughout the venue.

- Support coffee service during busy periods and maintain coffee quality standards.





- Ensure compliance with food safety, RSA, and workplace health and safety requirements.

- Oversee opening and closing procedures.

- Work closely with the Venue Manager to achieve operational and financial goals.

- Take responsibility for the venue in the absence of the Venue Manager.

Skills & Experience

- Previous experience in a supervisory or management role within hospitality.

- Strong barista experience and confidence working in a busy coffee environment.

- Excellent leadership and communication skills.

- A passion for customer service and creating memorable guest experiences.

- Ability to remain calm and organised in a fast-paced environment.

- Experience with stock control and ordering.

- Current RSA certificate.

- Availability to work weekends, evenings, and public holidays.
