This role combines two primary responsibilities working under the Senior Minister: pastoral leadership of the 10 am St Clair congregation and parish-wide leadership of ministry among youth, young adults and families.

About Us

Our mission since 1840 ‘Sharing Jesus, Growing Disciples’. St Marys & St Clair Anglican Church is a dual-site Anglican parish in Western Sydney with around 190 people gathering across four Sunday services: three at St Marys and one at St Clair.

The two parishes of St Marys and St Clair joined together in 2021. Since that time, we have been greatly encouraged by the growing fellowship, partnership and shared ministry between our congregations.

We want to see people come to know Jesus and grow into mature, disciple-making disciples. Our church seeks to be biblical, welcoming, serving, intentional in outreach, family-friendly and faithfully committed to pastoral care.

Key responsibilities include:

To lead and pastor the St Clair 10am congregation as part of an overall vision to see 5% conversion growth in the parish,

Preaching approx.. 2 times a month, primarily at St Clair,

Grow Saints Youth, our Friday-night youth ministry, in both number of youth and spiritual maturity of leaders,

Strengthening the pathway from children's ministry into youth and the wider discipleship life of the church,





Lead and develop the young adult group,

Initiate a new young families growth group,

Working alongside and support our part-time Children's Minister,

Encouraging Growth Groups, one-to-one discipleship and the development of disciple-making disciples,

Equipping church members for ministry and developing future leaders,

Contributing to parish-wide ministry, combined services and pastoral care.

We are not simply looking for someone to run youth programs. We are seeking an Assistant Minister and pastor who has a particular passion for seeing the next generations come to know Jesus, grow as his disciples and increasingly become disciple-makers themselves.

demonstrates gracious and godly Christian character;

loves people—both those who know Christ and those who do not is humble, teachable and devoted to prayer;

faithfully and clearly teaches God's Word;

is a servant-hearted leader who develops others for ministry;

can build meaningful relationships and provide thoughtful pastoral care;

works collaboratively and contributes positively to a ministry team;





can serve joyfully under the leadership of the Senior Minister while exercising genuine responsibility and initiative; and has a particular desire to disciple youth, young adults and families.

Appropriate theological training and a robust foundation in Reformed evangelical theology are expected. Previous pastoral and youth ministry experience will be highly regarded.

Applicants must be eligible to be authorised for ministry within the Anglican Diocese of Sydney. Ordination is not a prerequisite.

The successful applicant will need to meet all relevant Sydney Anglican Safe Ministry requirements, hold an appropriate Working With Children Check.

Stipend & Conditions

Stipend and conditions will be in accordance with Sydney Diocesan recommendations and appropriate to qualifications and experience. There is housing provided on site at St Clair.

Commencement is negotiable, with an anticipated start by February 2027.
