Role : Automation Tester – API, Appium & Rest Assured

Location : Melbourne

Duration : 6 Months Contract

Role Overview

We are seeking an experienced Automation Tester with strong expertise in API automation, mobile automation, and Rest Assured . The ideal candidate will be responsible for designing, developing, and maintaining automated test frameworks across APIs, web services, and mobile applications.

Key Responsibilities

- Develop and maintain API automation frameworks using Rest Assured .
- Design and execute automated tests for REST APIs and web services .
- Perform mobile application automation testing using Appium for Android and/or iOS.
- Develop reusable and scalable automation scripts using Java .
- Perform functional, integration, regression, and end-to-end automation testing.
- Validate API responses, status codes, request/response payloads, headers, and authentication mechanisms.
- Integrate automated tests into CI/CD pipelines and support continuous testing.
- Identify, analyze, and troubleshoot automation failures and defects.
- Collaborate with developers, QA engineers, business analysts,



and other stakeholders in Agile environments.
- Maintain test documentation, automation reports, and defect tracking.

Mandatory Skills

- Strong experience in API Automation Testing .
- Hands-on experience with Rest Assured is mandatory.
- Strong experience in Appium Mobile Automation is mandatory.
- Solid programming experience in Java .
- Experience with Selenium/WebDriver .
- Good understanding of REST APIs, JSON, HTTP methods, and API authentication .
- Experience with TestNG/JUnit and automation framework development.
- Knowledge of Git and CI/CD tools such as Jenkins/GitHub Actions/Azure DevOps.
- Strong understanding of QA methodologies, test automation, and defect management.

Preferred Skills

- Experience with both Android and iOS automation .
- Experience with Postman and API testing tools.
- Experience with Maven/Gradle.
- Experience working in Agile/Scrum teams.
- Exposure to cloud-based testing platforms such as BrowserStack or Sauce Labs.
