About the Company

Coolon LED Lighting is a multi-award-winning Victorian advanced electronics manufacturer, specialising in premium LED lighting for industrial, commercial and architectural applications.

Our products combine electronics, embedded software, mechanical engineering and advanced manufacturing, and are designed for demanding environments where reliability and performance matter.

We are looking for an Associate Test Engineer to join our engineering team and support the testing, verification and validation of new and existing products.

Your Responsibilities:

- Assist the System & Design Compliance Engineer with testing and reporting activity

- Collaborate with R&D;, Compliance, Quality, and Production teams to define appropriate test requirements based on customer, regulatory, and internal standards

- Perform functional, electrical, mechanical, thermal, photometric, and environmental testing on new and existing products

- Execute Verification & Validation (V&V;) test plans and contribute to root cause analysis for failures or test deviations

- Generate and maintain accurate, traceable test documentation including DVPRs, issue logs, and reports

- Support firmware/hardware release decisions based on test results and green-light criteria

- Assist in the automation and continuous improvement of testing procedures and lab workflows

- Conduct incoming goods checks and in-process quality checks when required

- Support external certification and compliance testing through liaising with external labs and stakeholders





- Contribute to technical training, safety compliance, and lab equipment maintenance

What We’re Looking For:

- Engineering degree in Electronics, Mechatronics, or a related discipline

- Minimum 3 years’ experience in product testing, V&V;, compliance, or related fields

- Familiarity with test equipment and standards (e.g. EMC, safety, RF, IP, thermal, mechanical)

- Ability to interpret electrical schematics and mechanical drawings

- Experience with LED lighting or electronics manufacturing is a plus

- Structured and methodical approach to testing and problem-solving

- High attention to detail and excellent documentation practices

- Team player with strong communication skills and a proactive mindset

- Valid Australian work rights
