Join our growing Energy team as a Baler Operator at our resource recovery facility in Hemmant.

In this role, you’ll be responsible for the safe, efficient and reliable operation of our baler and wrapping line, ensuring PEF and PBF products are processed, wrapped and prepared to meet quality and export requirements.

Working closely with the Operations and Maintenance teams, you’ll help maintain a safe, productive and high-performing site while ensuring all activities are carried out in line with our HSEQ standards.

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

- Safely operate the baler, wrapping line and associated feed systems
- Monitor material flow through the baling process to support consistent production
- Ensure finished PEF and PBF bales meet required quality, integrity and wrapping standards
- Identify and report equipment faults, process issues and safety concerns
- Use HMI and PLC systems to monitor and support plant operations
- Assist with troubleshooting and basic diagnosis of process equipment
- Conduct housekeeping duties to maintain a clean and secure work environment
- Participate in toolbox talks, site inspections, risk assessments and continuous improvement initiatives
- Communicate effectively with the Plant Controller, Forklift Operators, Maintenance team and other site personnel
- Work flexibly across a range of operational tasks within your skill level

About you: We’re looking for someone who is safety-focused, mechanically minded and enjoys working as part of a team in a fast-paced industrial environment.

You’ll ideally have:

- Previous experience operating plant and equipment in an industrial, processing, recycling or manufacturing environment




- Basic understanding of process control and material flow
- Ability to learn and operate baling, wrapping and associated plant equipment
- Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills
- Ability to understand and use HMI and PLC applications, or a willingness to learn
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to product quality
- Good communication skills and the ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team
- A proactive approach to safety and operational performance
- Current High Risk Work Licence – Class LF (Forklift) – desirable, but not essential
