About the Role

Pink Comfort is looking for a motivated and compassionate Behaviour Support Practitioner – Core to join our growing team.

This role is suitable for an experienced Behaviour Support Practitioner or someone with a strong background in Mental Health, Social Work, Psychology, Community Services or a related field who is interested in developing a career in Positive Behaviour Support.

For the right candidate, training, supervision and support can be provided to develop the skills required to work as a Behaviour Support Practitioner.

Key Responsibilities

You will work with NDIS participants, families and support teams to:

- Conduct behaviour support assessments and gather relevant information.
- Assist with Functional Behaviour Assessments.
- Develop and implement Behaviour Support Plans.
- Identify behaviours of concern, triggers and contributing factors.
- Develop practical strategies to improve quality of life and reduce behaviours of concern.
- Work collaboratively with participants, families, Support Coordinators and allied health professionals.
- Provide coaching and guidance to support workers and carers.
- Monitor participant progress and review behaviour support strategies.
- Maintain clear, professional documentation and case notes.
- Work in accordance with NDIS Quality and Safeguards requirements.

About You We are looking for someone who is:
- Compassionate, motivated and interested in helping people achieve better outcomes.
- A strong communicator who can build rapport with participants and families.
- Comfortable working independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team.
- Organised and able to complete professional reports and documentation.
- Willing to learn and develop professionally.

You may already be working as a Behaviour Support Practitioner, or you may come from a Mental Health, Social Work, Psychology or related professional background and be interested in transitioning into Behaviour Support.

Previous Behaviour Support experience is highly regarded but not essential for a motivated candidate with a suitable professional background and willingness to undertake training and supervision.

Requirements
- Relevant tertiary qualification or significant relevant professional experience.
- Current NDIS Worker Screening Check or willingness to obtain.
- Working with Children Check where applicable.
- Current Australian driver's licence and access to reliable transport.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Commitment to person-centred and Positive Behaviour Support principles.

Pay: $75,000.00 – $90,000.00 per year
