Envision Energy is seeking an experienced BESS Technical Solutions Manager to join our growing Energy Storage team. This is an exciting opportunity to play a key role in developing and delivering technical solutions for utility-scale BESS projects across Australia.

Working closely with our Sales, Engineering, Product and Project Delivery teams, you will translate customer requirements and project needs into technically robust and commercially viable BESS solutions. You will support the sales process from early customer engagement through tendering and contract negotiation, while helping ensure our solutions remain aligned with Australian market, grid and regulatory requirements.

The Opportunity

This role combines technical engineering expertise with customer and commercial engagement.

You will support the development of utility-scale BESS solutions, working closely with the Sales team to understand customer requirements, assess project opportunities and develop appropriate technical solutions.

You will analyse RFP and tender documentation, prepare technical responses and presentations, and provide technical clarification to customers and internal stakeholders.

You will also contribute to the continuous improvement of Envision's BESS solutions by monitoring market and technology developments, analysing competitor offerings and working with our global R&D; and product teams to translate Australian market requirements into product and solution improvements.

Key Responsibilities

- Design, engineer and optimise utility-scale BESS solutions, working closely with the Sales team to develop solutions for customers and projects.
- Analyse RFP and tender documentation to understand project requirements, scope,



technical requirements and potential risks.
- Develop technical designs, presentations and supporting documentation for customer and internal discussions.
- Understand, interpret and translate customer requirements into practical BESS technical solutions.
- Prepare, review and submit technical tender response packages within required deadlines.
- Provide technical clarification and support throughout the sales and tender process, working closely with customers and commercial teams.
- Review previous technical tender submissions and outcomes to identify lessons learned and opportunities for improvement.
- Support customers and commercial teams during contract negotiations by providing technical input, clarification and advice.
- Maintain a solid understanding of Australian BESS market requirements, technical standards, grid requirements and emerging technologies.
- Work with global R&D; and product teams to communicate Australian market requirements and support the development of localised BESS solutions.
- Monitor the competitive landscape and emerging BESS technologies to support ongoing technical solution development.
- Contribute to the development of technical knowledge, processes and best practice within the BESS Technical Solutions team.

What You'll Bring

- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Energy Engineering or a related discipline.
- Approximately 5 years' experience in BESS, renewable energy, power systems, electrical engineering or a related technical field, ideally with an OEM, BESS integrator, renewable energy developer or network service provider.
- Strong working knowledge of battery systems, Power Conversion Systems (PCS),



PPC/EMS/SCADA and utility-scale BESS architecture.
- Working knowledge of grid-forming requirements and grid connection processes in Australia.
- Familiarity with Australian grid operator and network service provider processes and requirements.
- Good understanding of relevant regulatory requirements, technical standards and compliance requirements for BESS systems.
- Experience with BESS and PCS sizing and technical solution development.
- Understanding of electrical design concepts including short circuit protection, conductor sizing, thermal management and safety systems.
- Strong technical documentation, presentation and communication skills, with fluency in technical English.
- Ability to interpret customer and project requirements and translate them into practical technical solutions.
- Strong stakeholder management skills, with the ability to work effectively with customers, Sales, Engineering, Product, R&D; and Project Delivery teams.
- A commercially aware and pragmatic approach to solving technical challenges.

This position can be based in Melbourne or Sydney, with travel as required.
