Expression of Interest
Board Directors and Finance, Audit and Risk Committee Members
Living Knowledge Indigenous Corporation (Living Knowledge Network) is seeking Expressions of Interest from people who can play a key role in strategically supporting and guiding the future of an Indigenous-led organisation creating positive intergenerational change through traditional Indigenous knowledge systems and practices across Australia and overseas.
We are inviting suitable persons to express interest in becoming a:
- New Non-executive Board Director — to join the Living Knowledge Network Board of Directors
- Committee Members — to join the Living Knowledge Network Board’s Finance, Audit and Risk (FAR) Committee, either as an existing or incoming Director or as a skilled independent (non-Director) member.
About the Living Knowledge Network The Living Knowledge Network is an Indigenous-led, not-for-profit enterprise and registered charity dedicated to supporting a growing national network of Indigenous Communities and practitioners in restoring and maintaining Country and Community health and well-being through the revitalisation and use of traditional knowledge systems and practices, including cultural fire. We are guided by four key focus areas: Country and Indigenous Knowledge Systems, Self-Determined Communities, Leading Change, and Growing Sustainably. Across these focus areas, we help design and activate capacity-building and leadership initiatives, employment and related pathways, enterprises, tools, and other resources to support Communities in achieving their aspirations for Country and self-determined futures.

A Position Description is available, and further information is available, upon request through the contact details listed below. Finance, Audit and Risk Committee- Members The Living Knowledge Board is also seeking suitably qualified independent members for its Finance, Audit and Risk (FAR) Committee.
The FAR Committee supports the Board's oversight of financial sustainability, risk management,
compliance and internal controls. This is an excellent prospect for experienced finance, audit or risk professionals who want to contribute their skills to an Indigenous-led organisation without necessarily taking on a full Board Director role.
We are particularly interested in candidates with:
- A qualified accountant, auditor or finance professional background (CA/CPA or equivalent).
- Experience in risk management, internal controls or not-for-profit financial oversight.
- Familiarity with grant-funded or philanthropically funded organisations as well as developing mixed-revenue models and financial sustainability strategies.
- An understanding of, or willingness to learn about, CATSI Act and ORIC compliance requirements.
The ideal candidate will also have at least 2 years’ experience as a non-executive director, board committee member, or senior leader in not-for-profit organisations, and the expertise or experience to support the Committee’s work. The FAR Committee Charter and further information are available upon request through the contact details listed below.

To register your interest, please provide:
- A brief cover letter outlining your interest and the role(s) you are applying for (Board Director and/or FAR Committee) confirming your Director ID # where relevant
- A current CV or summary of relevant experience
- Contact details for two referees
Enquiries should be directed to
[email protected]. Enquiries submitted via other channels may not receive a response. The Living Knowledge Network strongly encourages applications from Indigenous persons who are suitably qualified and experienced, including where the person may not meet all the criteria for potential development opportunities, which are considered as part of the process.
