About the Role
We currently have opportunities available across three roles. Electrician, Boilermaker and Tradesperson.
Boilermaker
We are currently seeking an experienced Boilermaker/Fitter welder to join our maintenance team in Townsville. Reporting to the Workshop Supervisor, this role is primarily responsible for providing safe and cost-effective repairs and maintenance of our mobile equipment and fixed assets. This role is full time, 40 hours per week Monday to Friday.
- At all times comply with the company Health, Safety Environmental and Quality requirements.
- Undertaking boiler making duties including use of: grinding, cutting (plasma and Gas cutting), welding (GMAW, TIG, stick), polishing, cropping and pressing.
- Be responsive when on the on-call roster to ensure any breakdowns are resolved as soon as practical.
- Repair, maintain and service mobile and fixed plant equipment within required safety and operational guidelines. Equipment may include, but is not limited to, front end loaders, excavators, forklifts, reach stackers, skid steers, trucks and cranes.
- Diagnose faults and carry out efficient corrective action on machinery and equipment to minimise equipment failure, lack of availability and possible delays.
- Liaise with the Workshop Supervisor to ensure fleet performance and other targets are achieved across the operations.
- Ensure handovers are informative and productive to support maintenance continuity.
- Positive participation in Toolbox Talks and actively contribute to resolve production and safety issues at team level.
About You We are seeking candidates who hold the following requirements:
- A current C class driver’s licence.
- The ability to pass a police check in order to obtain a Maritime Security Identification Card (MSIC).
- A Cert III in Engineering - Heavy Fabrication Trade
- Post Trade courses pertinent to mobile machinery repair, diagnosis and maintenance
- Occupational licence pertaining to equipment being repaired.
- LR Licence for operating Service truck
- The ability to read schematic drawings for diagnosis.
- The ability to work autonomously and exercise initiative whilst working effectively in a team environment.
- Willingness to work a flexible roster with call out requirements
Electrician We are currently seeking an experienced Electrician to join our maintenance team in Townsville. Reporting to the Workshop Supervisor, this role is responsible for carrying out electrical diagnosis, repairs, servicing and maintenance across a range of heavy machinery and port equipment. This role is full time, 40 hours per week Monday to Friday.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform electrical fault finding,
repairs and preventative maintenance.
- Diagnose and repair electrical issues on heavy machinery and port equipment.
- Read and interpret schematic drawings.
- Complete maintenance tasks safely and efficiently.
- Work across different locations within the port as required.
- Participate in an on-call roster when required.
- Comply with NSS safety, environmental and quality standards.
Essential Requirement
- Relevant Electrical Trade Qualification.
- Current Australian Driver Licence.
- Experience in electrical diagnosis, repairs and maintenance.
- Ability to work safely and follow company procedures.
- Basic to intermediate computer skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Workshop Tradesperson We are currently seeking an experienced Tradesperson to join our maintenance team in Townsville. Reporting to the Workshop Supervisor. This role is full time, 40 hours per week Monday to Friday.
Essential Requirement
- Relevant Electrical Trade Qualification.
- Current Australian Driver Licence.
- Experience and knowledge of mobile equipment, diagnosis, repair and maintenance
- Comply with safety, environmental & quality requirments
- Ability to work a flexible roster with call out requirements
