About The Memo
At The Memo, we’re here to make the parenting journey feel a little less overwhelming and a lot more supported.
We curate the best products, the best advice and the kind of experience that makes parents (and parents-to-be) feel confident at every stage of their journey.
We’re growing - and we’re looking for a commercially minded Brand Manager to help shape what’s next.
About the Role
This is a hands-on role that brings together buying, category management and brand management. You’ll own the day-to-day performance of your category portfolio, curating the right mix of products and brands for The Memo customer while driving sales, margin and sell-through.
You’ll have your finger on the pulse of the baby and parenting space, combining strong commercial instinct with customer, product and market insights to make smart decisions about what we range, how we trade and where we grow.
Working closely with our Merchandise, Planning and Marketing teams, you’ll also build strong relationships with our brand partners and bring new products, launches and opportunities to life.
What You’ll Do
Range & Assortment Management
- Own the range and assortment for your category portfolio across online and retail stores
- Curate the right mix of products and brands for The Memo customer
- Identify customer, product and category insights to uncover growth opportunities
- Keep a close eye on competitor ranging and pricing to inform range decisions
- Contribute to quarterly range reviews, recommending new products, extensions and discontinuations backed by commercial insight
Trade & Stock Performance
- Own the trade plan for your portfolio, driving activity to deliver sales and profitability targets
- Partner with Marketing to ensure the right products sit behind our campaigns and promotional activity
- Lead new brand and product launches through our Go To Market process, setting them up for visibility and sell-through from day one
- Work closely with Planning to keep key lines in stock, minimise out-of-stocks and maintain healthy stock cover
Brand Management
- Own the day-to-day relationships with your brand partners, building strong and commercially productive partnerships
- Develop brand plans with key partners, identifying growth opportunities and aligning on marketing activity and shared priorities
- Share sales and sell-through performance with brand partners through clear, transparent communication
- Negotiate trading terms and opportunities including promotional support, gifting, display stock and staff product
- Manage rebates, claims and credits, ensuring they’re captured accurately and on time
Reporting & Analysis
- Contribute to weekly and monthly trade reporting, tracking sales, sell-through and performance against plan
- Review stock and inventory health with Planning, identifying under and over-performing products and recommending action
- Dig into category and brand performance to spot risks, opportunities and the insights that should shape what we do next
Leadership & Collaboration
- Bring strong self-leadership and ownership to your portfolio, while working closely across the business
- Build strong relationships across Merchandise, Marketing, Planning, Operations and Logistics
- Champion better ways of working, helping improve processes, efficiency and accuracy
- Be the go-to person for your categories,
sharing knowledge and insights with the broader team
About You
You’re commercially minded, customer-obsessed and naturally curious about what’s next.
You know a great product when you see one, but you’re equally comfortable getting into the numbers to understand what’s working, what isn’t and what we should do about it.
You:
- Have 5+ years’ experience across buying, category management or brand management, ideally within retail or consumer brands
- Have strong commercial acumen and are confident working with sales, margin, sell-through and stock metrics
- Have strong Excel and analytical skills and know how to turn data into action
- Are a confident negotiator who knows how to build strong, long-term brand relationships
- Have a sharp instinct for customer, product and category trends
- Are highly organised, detail-oriented and comfortable managing multiple priorities
- Love collaborating and building relationships across teams
Experience in baby and parenting is a bonus, but a genuine curiosity for the category and what modern parents are looking for is a must.
