About the role

Dollar Quality Pty Ltd t/a Angel Construction is seeking a skilled Building Associate to join our growing team in Port Douglas, QLD. This is a full-time position (38 hours per week) offering a remuneration package of $79,500 – $85,000 per annum + superannuation (dependent on experience).

As a Building Associate, you will serve as a key in office coordinator, supervising construction activities, ensuring structural compliance, and organizing the material and human resources required to deliver building projects safely, on time, and to code. This role bridges the gap between our project managers, architects, and on-site sub-contractors.

Key responsibilities

- Site Supervision & Coordination: Supervise daily on-site building activities and coordinate works programs across various trade disciplines.
- Plan Interpretation: Read and interpret building plans, engineering blueprints, local council regulations, and building codes of practice to ensure accurate execution.
- Resource Allocation: Organize and schedule the delivery of construction materials, heavy machinery, and human resources to maintain project timelines.
- Compliance & Inspections: Inspect on-site work and incoming building materials to verify strict compliance with project specifications, contract drawings, and quality standards.
- Safety Enforcement: Implement and monitor work health and safety (WHS) protocols on-site, conducting risk assessments and ensuring a safe working environment.
- Cost & Progress Tracking: Calculate ongoing construction material requirements, monitor project budgets, and maintain daily site logs.
- Reporting: Prepare technical building progress records and submit detailed site reports to Construction Managers and project stakeholders.





What we're looking for

- Relevant qualification in Building and Construction, Civil Engineering, or a closely related discipline, and/or substantial industry experience.
- Solid, technical understanding of the National Construction Code (NCC), Australian Standards, and local building regulations.
- Demonstrated experience supervising trades and coordinating physical resources on active construction sites.
- Strong problem-solving abilities and clear technical communication skills to liaise with clients, architects, and contractors.
- High attention to detail regarding structural quality control and workplace safety compliance.
- A current manual driver's licence and white card are essential.
