Business Development Manager The Business Development Manager is responsible for identifying, developing, and converting new business opportunities across Oceania within the welding, fabrication, mining, construction, manufacturing, and industrial sectors. The role focuses on growing market share, increasing revenue, and building strong relationships with Tier 1 and Tier 2 contractors, project owners, engineers, procurement teams, and industrial end users.

Working closely with sales, technical, and product teams, the Business Development Manager promotes welding consumables, equipment, safety products, automation solutions, and technical services to improve customer productivity, safety, and operational performance.

The role involves securing specifications, supporting tenders, developing project opportunities, and maintaining a strong pipeline across major projects, maintenance contracts, shutdowns, and sustaining operations.

Success is measured by revenue growth, new customer acquisition, account development, project wins, customer retention, and pipeline strength. The ideal candidate is a commercially driven business development professional with strong relationship-building skills and a proven ability to deliver value-based solutions within industrial markets.

Responsibilities:

1. SALES & BUSINESS DEVELOPMENT

- Identify, develop and convert new sales opportunities across mining, construction, fabrication, manufacturing, defence, energy and industrial sectors.
- Actively prospect and engage new customers to expand market share and revenue.
- Develop relationships with contractors, fabricators, project stakeholders and industrial end users.
- Promote welding consumables, equipment, automation solutions and related services to existing and prospective customers.
- Drive specification opportunities and support product selection on major projects.




- Maintain and grow a healthy pipeline of opportunities through effective account planning and regular customer engagement.
- Work with internal technical and sales teams to deliver customer-focused solutions.
- Achieve agreed sales, margin and business development targets.

ACCOUNT MANAGEMENT & CUSTOMER DEVELOPMENT

- Develop and maintain strong relationships with key customers, contractors, project managers, procurement teams, engineering managers and operational stakeholders.
- Conduct regular customer visits and business reviews.
- Identify customer challenges and provide commercial and technical solutions that deliver measurable value.
- Grow existing customer spend through regular engagement and identification of new opportunities.
- Identify opportunities to improve customer productivity, safety and operational performance through company products and services.
- Support customers with welding process improvements, productivity enhancements and cost reduction initiatives.
- Maintain a high level of customer engagement throughout project lifecycles.

TIER 1&2 CONTRACTOR & MAJOR PROJECT DEVELOPMENT

- Build and maintain relationships with Tier 1&2 mining, construction and infrastructure contractors.
- Develop opportunities within major capital projects, shutdowns, maintenance contracts and sustaining operations.
- Engage with procurement, engineering and project delivery teams to identify upcoming tender opportunities.
- Participate in tender submissions, pricing strategies and commercial negotiations.
- Position the company as a preferred supplier through early contractor engagement and value-based selling.




- Maintain a pipeline of qualified opportunities and provide accurate forecasting on major projects.

INTERNAL COLLABORATION & SALES SUPPORT

- Work closely with field and internal sales teams to support customer requirements.
- Participate in product demonstrations, customer presentations and industry events.
- Share market intelligence and customer feedback with internal stakeholders.
- Support successful project execution through effective communication and coordination across the business.
- Assist with training and product awareness activities where required.

REPORTING, PLANNING & MARKET INTELLIGENCE · Maintain accurate customer records, opportunity pipelines and activity reporting through CRM systems.

- Provide market intelligence relating to competitor activity, customer trends and emerging opportunities.
- Analyse sales data and identify opportunities for continuous improvement
