The Opportunity

As our Electrical CAD Designer, you'll play a key role in developing electrical systems and integration solutions for Defence and specialist vehicle programs.

Using Siemens NX, you'll create detailed 3D electrical models, harness layouts, cable routing solutions and supporting documentation that enable the successful manufacture, installation and maintenance of complex systems.

Working closely with Engineers, Project Managers and customers,



you'll help ensure designs are practical, compliant, manufacturable and fit for purpose.

Key Responsibilities

- Develop 3D electrical CAD models, harness designs and cable routing solutions using Siemens NX.
- Create high-quality electrical drawings, schematics, wiring diagrams and manufacturing documentation.
- Support the integration of electrical systems into vehicles, platforms and specialist equipment.
- Prepare technical documentation including BOMs, technical data packs, installation instructions and engineering change documentation.
- Participate in design reviews and collaborate with multidisciplinary engineering teams to deliver customer-focused solutions.
- Support Defence projects where configuration control, traceability and technical compliance are critical.

About You

You are a detail-oriented designer who enjoys solving complex electrical integration challenges and turning engineering concepts into practical, buildable solutions.

You will ideally bring

- Experience designing electrical systems, harnesses and cable assemblies within a 3D CAD setting.
- Solid capability producing electrical drawings, wiring diagrams and manufacturing documentation.
- Experience with Siemens NX or comparable advanced CAD software.
- The ability to interpret engineering standards and customer requirements.
- Experience working within structured project or engineering environments.
- Strong communication skills and a collaborative approach to problem solving.

Highly Regarded





- Defence industry experience.
- Automotive or specialised vehicle electrical design experience.
- Harness design and electrical integration experience.
- Experience creating drawings to AS1100 and/or DEFAUST 5085 standards.
- RF design exposure.
- Electrical Engineering qualifications or equivalent experience.
- Mechanical design experience.
- Active Australian Defence Security Clearance.
