Support the Heart and Lung Services team by delivering financial analysis, budgeting, reporting and business support that drives informed decision making and helps achieve operational and service excellence.
About the role The Business Support Officer provides financial and business support services within Heart and Lung Services at The Prince Charles Hospital. Working closely with the Business Manager and Assistant Business Manager, the role assists with financial management activities including budgeting, reporting, financial analysis, payroll monitoring, accrual processes and general ledger activities to support informed decision-making and effective service delivery.
The successful candidate will contribute to the preparation of financial reports and forecasts, monitor budget performance, support procurement and invoice management processes, and provide technical and financial advice to stakeholders. This role plays an important part in maintaining efficient financial systems and ensuring the provision of accurate, timely and high-quality business information across the service.
About you
Our ideal candidate will be someone who can carry out the following key accountabilities in accordance with the Metro North Health's values:
- Assist with financial reporting, budget monitoring and variance analysis across service line and cost centre budgets.
- Prepare and support management reporting on financial performance, activity, workforce and operational indicators.
- Provide technical advice and support on financial systems,
procurement processes, invoicing and payroll adjustments.
- Contribute to budget development, forecasting, accrual processes and capital expenditure planning activities.
- Identify opportunities to improve business systems, processes and reporting practices while supporting financial compliance requirements.
