Position Type: Fixed-Term Full-Time until January 2028 (9 day fortnight, 36.25 hours/week)
Salary Range: LGO2-3 ($70,107 – $84,646 per annum + superannuation), based on skills, qualifications and experience
Location: Townsville

About the Role:
Deliver exceptional customer service and specialist advice in a busy Planning Services environment. You'll support customers, manage applications and records, coordinate planning activities, and ensure legislative timeframes are met. The role also includes financial administration, correspondence management, and providing administrative support across multiple teams.
At higher levels, you'll help drive team performance by managing complex applications, improving processes, supporting projects, maintaining data quality, and mentoring team members.
About you:
- Passionate about delivering excellent customer service and positive customer experiences
- Strong administrative skills with the ability to manage competing priorities and deadlines
- Confident communicator who can build effective relationships with a range of stakeholders
- Highly organised, detail-focused, and committed to accurate record keeping
- Proficient in Microsoft Office and business management systems
- Collaborative team player who is adaptable and thrives in a fast-paced environment
- Strong problem-solving skills with a proactive approach to continuous improvement
- Experience in planning, local government, project support,
or process improvement will be highly regarded
- Relevant qualifications and/or equivalent experience in administration, customer service, or a related field

* The Council contribution to employees' superannuation for contributing employees shall be 13.5% of the employees' ordinary time earnings subject to the employee contributing a minimum of 6% of their ordinary time earnings.
