BUYER’S ASSISTANT - Full-Time

Caroline K Morgan is a leading Australian fashion wholesaler with over 30 years of experience in the industry. As our business continues to expand, we are seeking an enthusiastic and organised Buyer’s Assistant to join our growingResearch & Development team.

ABOUT THE ROLE:

The Buyer’s Assistant will provide essential administrative and coordination support to the Head of Research & Development and Production Team, helping ensure product development activities remain organized, on schedule and aligned with the company’s objectives.

We are looking for someone who is focused, organised and proactive, with the ability to multitask, communicate confidently and work effectively as part of a busy team.

The ideal candidate will have an interest in fashion and an eye for emerging trends, colours, styles and new product opportunities.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

- Provide day-to-day administrative and coordination support to the Head of Research & Development and Production Team.
- Assist with coordinating product development activities and ensure tasks, samples and information remain on schedule.
- Maintain accurate records, product information, reports and documentation.
- Assist with communication and coordination between manufacturers, designers, suppliers, customers and internal teams.
- Monitor and follow up on outstanding tasks to ensure deadlines and business objectives are achieved.
- Research current and emerging fashion trends, colours, fabrics, styles and market movements.
- Assist the Research & Development team in identifying new fashion concepts, product ideas and market opportunities.
- Demonstrate creativity and an open-minded approach to exploring new concepts, styles and product categories.
- Assist with sample coordination,



product development and other R&D; activities as required.
- Communicate clearly and confidently with internal and external stakeholders.
- Work collaboratively with the wider team to ensure the smooth and timely progression of product development.
- Undertake general administrative and project-based duties as required.

QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE:

- A degree, qualification or background in Fashion, Design, Textiles, Merchandising or a related field will be highly regarded.
- Previous experience within the fashion industry, buying, product development, production or merchandising will be advantageous.
- Strong computer and systems skills, particularly Microsoft Word, Excel and Outlook.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Previous administrative or coordination experience is desirable.
- An understanding of the fashion wholesale or retail workplace will be highly regarded.
