Three Roles, One Path

Chapter One: Cadet Building Regulations Consultant

You've completed your Honours degree, or you're in your Honours year now, and you're ready to see how the NCC actually works on a real building. Here you won't spend a year on admin. You'll be on live projects from day one, learning alongside senior consultants and working through our structured EBS Learn cadet program.

· Helping prepare building regulation reports and compliance documentation

· Learning to interpret the NCC and Australian Standards

· Attending site visits and client meetings with experienced consultants

· Building your technical and client skills with structured mentoring

Minimum requirement: an Honours degree (completed or currently completing) in Building Surveying, Construction Management, Engineering,



Architecture or a related discipline.

Chapter Two: Assistant Building Regulations Consultant

You know the basics of the BCA and you're ready to start running projects of your own. You'll coordinate your own work across Class 2 to 9 buildings under the direct guidance of our Managers/Directors.

· Preparing BCA assessments and reports, including inspections

· Preparing building defect reports for residential strata complexes

· Reviewing and preparing Essential Fire Safety Measures and AFSS lists

· Carrying out BCA, Access and Fire compliance inspections on new construction

· Advising clients directly, in writing and in person

Chapter Three: Passive Fire Auditor

You've spent years in passive fire, you can read a test report in your sleep, and you want to lead the work rather than just deliver it. You'll lead audits across residential, commercial, government and retail developments, and help shape the consultants coming up behind you.

· Auditing and inspecting passive fire systems against the BCA and relevant Australian Standards

· Identifying non compliances and preparing audit and rectification reports

· Issuing inspection reports, fire safety certificates and design and installation certifications

· Overseeing rectification works through to certification and handover

· Mentoring our junior consultants

Who You Are

You're energetic, you genuinely like people,



and when a problem gets complicated you go looking for the smart way through it. For every role, you'll bring:

· An Honours degree, completed or currently completing, in Building Surveying, Construction Management, Engineering (Civil, Structural or Mechanical), Architecture or a related discipline

· An eye for detail and pride in a well written report

· Solid written and verbal communication skills

· Full working rights in Australia

· A current driver's licence For the Passive Fire Auditor role, you'll also bring at least three years' experience in passive fire consultancy or AFSS auditing, fire safety practitioner accreditation, and comprehensive knowledge of the BCA, Australian Standards and test reports.
