The Careers Counsellor – Partnerships Lead is a key leadership role within this model, working alongside the Careers Counsellor – Futures Learning Lead to deliver an innovative and highly connected careers program.

About the Role

This is a permanent teaching position and an exciting opportunity for an experienced educator and careers practitioner to help shape the future direction of careers education at Scotch. The position includes a 0.6 FTE release for Careers Counsellor - Partnerships Lead responsibilities, with the remaining 0.4 FTE comprising a teaching load in Exploring Identities & Futures (EIF) and a faculty aligned with the successful applicant’s teaching methods.

Working under the direction of the Head of Teaching and Learning, you will build and maintain strategic partnerships with universities, industry groups, employers, community organisations and the Scotch Old Collegians' Association (SCOCA). Through these relationships, you will create meaningful opportunities that connect students with the world beyond school and support them to make informed decisions about their future pathways.





The role also provides pathway counselling and support to students and families within three allocated Houses, helping students navigate subject selection, tertiary pathways, VET options, work-integrated learning and post-school transitions. Working collaboratively with the Careers Counsellor - Futures Learning Lead, you will contribute to the delivery of a comprehensive careers and futures education program across the College.

Key responsibilities include

- Developing and managing strategic partnerships with universities, employers, industry groups, alumni and community organisations.
- Coordinating careers expos, guest speakers, workplace learning opportunities and industry engagement activities.
- Providing individual pathway counselling and career advice to students and families.
- Supporting VET pathways, workplace learning and alternative pathway arrangements.
- Assisting students with tertiary applications, scholarships, SATAC processes and post-school planning.
- Monitoring post-school destinations data and contributing to strategic reporting and program improvement.
- Representing Scotch College at external events and industry networks connected to student pathways and career development.
- Serving as a member of the Exploring Identities & Futures (EIF) teaching team.





About You You are an experienced educator with a passion for helping young people explore opportunities, make informed decisions and pursue meaningful futures.

You are equally comfortable building relationships with students and families as you are engaging with university leaders, employers and industry partners. You thrive on creating connections, identifying opportunities and translating strategic ideas into practical outcomes that benefit students.

You will bring

- Teacher registration with the Teachers Registration Board of South Australia.
- Experience in careers education, pathway counselling or student futures planning.
- Strong knowledge of tertiary pathways, VET, workforce trends and post-school options.
- Demonstrated ability to build productive partnerships and stakeholder relationships.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Strong organisational skills and the ability to manage multiple priorities.
- A contemporary and innovative approach to careers education and student pathway development.
- Qualifications in career development (or a willingness to work towards them) will be highly regarded.
