Role Description The Casual Commis role is a full time, on-site position based at DoubleTree by Hilton Perth Waterfront in the Greater Perth Area. In this role, the team member supports the kitchen brigade with day-to-day food preparation, including basic cooking tasks, mise en place, and plating under the guidance of senior chefs.

Responsibilities include maintaining high hygiene standards, following food safety procedures, and ensuring cleanliness of workstations and equipment.



The Commis assists in delivering consistent quality across menu items, helps with stock rotation and storage, and supports the smooth operation of service periods. The role also involves effective communication with colleagues and a commitment to providing a positive dining experience for guests.

Qualifications

- Strong foundation in food preparation and basic cooking, with developing culinary skills.
- Good understanding of hygiene, food safety, and cleanliness standards in a commercial kitchen.
- Clear and respectful communication skills, with the ability to work effectively in a team.
- Relevant culinary training or certification, or experience in a hotel or restaurant kitchen is advantageous.
- Ability to work flexible hours, including weekends, evenings, and public holidays as required.
- Reliable, organized, and able to follow instructions in a fast-paced environment.
- Knowledge of Western and contemporary cuisine, or willingness to learn and adapt.
- Eligibility to work in Australia and adherence to workplace health and safety requirements.
