Children First is a not-for-profit organisation that provides preschool, long day care, before and after school care, and vacation care services in the Blacktown area. It operates out of six sites and approximately 700 children attend these services in any week. In addition to providing childcare services from its own centres, Children First, which is a service of Growing Potential Ltd., is funded to operate family support services to centres, families and children across Western Sydney.

We are currently recruiting for Casual OOSH educators to work at our Outside School Hours centre located in Blacktown and Hassall Grove - Western Sydney.

Casual educators would cover permanent staff on sick leave or annual leave and must be able to attend a shift with short notice.

Shifts range between 2 hours to 4 hours during school terms (morning and afternoons) and 3 - 8 hours during school holidays.

Would suit uni students currently studying a Teaching degree wanting work experience with school aged children.





Responsibilities/Duties include but not limited to:

- Actively supervising primary school aged children in outdoor and indoor activities
- Assisting other staff in engaging in programs that are both fun and educational
- Setting up outside of school clubs and activities
- Offering a safe and secure environment
- Liaison with carers and families

Mandatory Criteria:
- Working With Children Check Number.
- Must be over 18 years
- Willingness to complete mandatory child safety training
- Willingness to complete Food Handler Basics training

Desirable Criteria:
- Current first aid certificate (including anaphylaxis, asthma and CPR)
- CHCPRT025 - Identify and report children and young people at risk

This is a casual role, therefore there are no specific or guaranteed hours per week. Must be available to work at short notice.
