We are seeking an enthusiastic and experienced Trainer and Assessor – Certificate III in Animal Care Services (ACM30122) to join our growing academic team.

This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced animal care professional who enjoys sharing their knowledge, supporting students and contributing to high-quality vocational education.

About the role

As a Trainer and Assessor, you will deliver engaging, practical and industry-relevant training and assessment for students undertaking the Certificate III in Animal Care Services.

You will be responsible for:

- Delivering engaging classroom and practical training aligned with the requirements of ACM30122
- Planning and facilitating learning activities that reflect current animal care industry practices
- Assessing student competency in accordance with training package requirements and Greenwood Academy assessment practices
- Providing constructive feedback and appropriate academic support to students
- Maintaining accurate and timely assessment and student records
- Supporting students to develop practical skills, professional behaviours and workplace readiness
- Participating in moderation, validation and continuous improvement activities
- Maintaining currency of vocational skills and industry knowledge
- Working collaboratively with Student Services, Placement Coordinators and other trainers
- Supporting students undertaking industry placement where required




- Ensuring training and assessment is delivered in accordance with relevant VET regulatory requirements and Greenwood Academy policies and procedures

About you We are looking for someone who is passionate about animal care and enjoys helping others develop their skills and confidence.

You will ideally have

- Relevant qualifications and substantial industry experience in animal care, in particular pet grooming
- Current industry knowledge and practical experience relevant to Certificate III Animal Care Services
- Previous experience delivering vocational education and training
- A strong understanding of competency-based assessment
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- The ability to engage students from diverse backgrounds and learning abilities
- A supportive, patient and student-focused approach
- Robust organisational and record-keeping skills
- The ability to work independently as well as collaboratively within an academic team

Essential qualifications and requirements
- TAE40122 Certificate IV in Training and Assessment, or equivalent
- Certificate III in animal care services or above
- Relevant industry experience in animal care
- Current Working with Children and Police Check
- Ability to meet applicable VET regulatory and trainer competency requirements
- Commitment to maintaining industry and professional currency
