The opportunity

Our client is a PE-backed energy infrastructure business with a utility-scale development, construction and operating portfolio moving through an active growth phase. This is a rare CFO mandate offers a seat at the centre of the business's investment and transaction agenda, offering a role that goes beyond a back-office finance function bolted onto a growing balance sheet.

As one of a small number of senior executives shaping the business's next phase, this strategic CFO will own the finance function end-to-end while sitting directly alongside the CEO and engaging directly with the sponsor, working across M&A; activity, capital raising and broader investment decisions. You'll build the financial infrastructure of a business and directly influence which deals get done, how they're financed and how capital is deployed across a growing portfolio.

What you'll own

- Financial strategy, budgeting, forecasting and long-range planning across a growing multi-project portfolio.
- Statutory and management reporting, financial controls, tax, treasury and audit: the full finance function, built for scale.
- Project and corporate financing: lender selection, debt structuring, term sheet negotiation and driving transactions to financial close.
- Financial analysis and recommendations feeding directly into investment committee decisions and capital allocation.
- M&A; and investment execution: due diligence, valuation and deal structuring,



working shoulder-to-shoulder with the CEO from screening through to close.
- Building the finance team itself: this is a build-and-lead mandate, not a maintain-and-report one.
- Acting as a key point of engagement with the PE sponsor on portfolio performance, reporting and value creation initiatives.

What you bring The successful candidate will have 20 years of finance leadership in energy, infrastructure or renewables, either as a current CFO or as a Deputy CFO / Head of Finance ready to step into a broader, more commercially exposed mandate.

Experience operating in a PE-backed workplace is preferred but not a prerequisite but must be comfortable with sponsor reporting and value creation planning within an Energy or complex Infrastructure related business.The successful candidate will pair a strong technical accounting and control foundation with real transaction experience, including due diligence, deal structuring through to financial close, not just reviewing the outputs. CA/CPA or equivalent is expected; MBA or CFA is a plus. Most importantly, our client is looking for someone who wants a seat at the table on the deals themselves.
