Experienced Chef – Full time or Casual

Gio’s Restaurant is looking for an experienced and motivated chef to join our kitchen team in either a full-time or casual position.

Applicants must have at least three years of professional kitchen experience.

The working week is Wednesday to Sunday, including evenings and weekends.

We serve Italian and Spanish-inspired cuisine, with a strong focus on quality produce and cooking over wood fire and charcoal using parrilla and al asador techniques.

This is an excellent opportunity to work in a well-organised fine-dining kitchen alongside our experienced chef-owner, while developing your skills and progressing your culinary career.

Key responsibilities

- Preparing and cooking dishes to a consistently high standard
- Managing your section during preparation and service
- Working with wood-fired, charcoal and traditional cooking techniques
- Maintaining high standards of presentation, portioning and quality
- Following food-safety, hygiene and cleaning procedures
- Assisting with stock rotation, ordering and waste control
- Contributing to an organised and efficient kitchen
- Working closely with the chef-owner and wider kitchen team

What we’re looking for
- A minimum of three years’ professional kitchen experience
- Experience working in a fast-paced, quality-focused kitchen




- A genuine passion for food and a desire to progress your career
- A great attitude and willingness to learn and get the job done
- The ability to remain organised and calm during busy services
- Strong teamwork, communication and time-management skills
- Reliability, punctuality and excellent attention to detail
- Availability to work Wednesday to Sunday, including nights and weekends
- Valid Australian working rights
- A driver’s licence and reliable transport are essential, as public transport in Silverdale is limited

Experience with Italian or Spanish cuisine and wood-fire cooking is highly regarded but not essential. Training will be provided to the right person.
