About the role

As a Chef / Sandwich Cook, you'll be responsible for preparing and cooking our menu to a consistently high standard while keeping service quick, organised and efficient. We're a fast-paced Melbourne deli focused on big flavours, quality ingredients and seriously good sandwiches. Our menu includes toasted melts, hoagies, baguettes, fried chicken and deli-style sandwiches, all made fresh to order.

Key responsibilities

- Preparing and cooking sandwiches, hoagies, melts and other menu items to order
- Working across the grill, fryer and sandwich section
- Preparing meats, sauces, pickles, vegetables and other ingredients for daily service
- Following recipes, portioning and presentation standards
- Managing your section efficiently during busy lunch services
- Maintaining consistent food quality and presentation
- Completing daily prep and ensuring the kitchen is ready for service
- Monitoring stock levels and minimising food waste
- Maintaining a clean, organised and food-safe workspace




- Receiving and storing deliveries correctly

About you

- Previous experience as a chef, cook or sandwich cook in a busy café, deli or restaurant
- Confident working with grills and fryers
- Comfortable working in a fast-paced, high-volume environment
- Strong attention to detail and consistency
- Good understanding of food safety and kitchen hygiene
- Ability to follow recipes and systems
- Good communication and teamwork
- Reliable, punctual and organised
- Able to work independently when required
