Civil Workers & Operators – Relocate to Rockhampton | Immediate Starts

Smith & Co Recruitment is seeking experienced Civil Workers and Operators for multiple ongoing roles with an established civil contractor in Rockhampton, QLD.

With major projects underway, we are looking for reliable candidates with experience in underground services, drainage, pipelaying and civil plant operation. Candidates from anywhere in Australia are encouraged to apply, provided they are willing to relocate to Rockhampton for the chance.

Key Responsibilities

- Perform pipelaying, plant operating or civil labouring duties relevant to your experience
- Assist with drainage, trenching, underground services and associated civil works




- Install pipes, pits and other underground infrastructure as required
- Operate excavators, skid steers, combination plant or truck and trailer combinations where suitably licensed and competent
- Support pipelaying crews with excavation, bedding, backfill, spotting and general groundworks
- Work safely around trenches, mobile plant and active civil construction areas
- Follow construction plans, set-out requirements, levels and Supervisor instructions
- Conduct daily pre-start checks and basic equipment inspections when operating plant
- Maintain a clean, safe and productive work area
- Adhere to all site safety, quality and project requirements

Skills & Experience

- Proven civil construction experience, ideally across underground services, drainage, subdivision or infrastructure works
- Experience in one or more of the listed positions
- Relevant RII competencies, VOCs and licenses for applicable operator roles
- GPS excavator experience is essential/highly regarded for GPS Excavator Operator positions
- Current Construction White Card
- Sound understanding of trench safety, underground services and working around mobile plant
- Reliable, safety-focused and committed to ongoing work
- Available to commence ASAP
- Willing and able to relocate to Rockhampton for the role
