About the Role
Skill City Facility Solutions is seeking an experienced, reliable and motivated Commercial Cleaning Supervisor to manage our cleaning teams and client sites across Melbourne.
The successful candidate will be responsible for supervising cleaners, maintaining high cleaning standards, completing site inspections, communicating with clients and ensuring all services are completed according to the agreed Scope of Work.
This is a hands-on supervisory position. Applicants must be flexible with working hours, as some sites operate during early mornings, evenings and weekends.
Key Responsibilities
- Supervise cleaning teams across multiple commercial sites
- Prepare and manage staff rosters and shift coverage
- Train and support new and existing cleaners
- Conduct regular site inspections and quality audits
- Ensure cleaners follow the approved Scope of Work
- Communicate professionally with clients and respond to concerns
- Manage staff attendance, clock-ins, timesheets and site photos
- Organise cleaning chemicals, consumables and equipment
- Ensure cleaning machinery is used and maintained correctly
- Monitor staff performance and provide feedback
- Arrange urgent shift replacements when required
- Assist with commercial and periodical cleaning when necessary
- Ensure compliance with company policies, SDS requirements and workplace health and safety procedures
- Report operational matters to the Operations Manager and General Manager
Requirements
- Previous commercial cleaning experience is essential
- Previous supervisory or team-leader experience is preferred
- Strong leadership and staff-management skills
- Excellent communication and customer-service skills
- Ability to manage multiple sites and priorities
- Strong attention to detail and cleaning-quality standards
- Good understanding of cleaning chemicals, equipment and safety procedures
- Ability to use mobile applications for rosters, reports, photos and communication
- Valid Australian driver’s licence
- Reliable transport and willingness to travel between sites
- Current Police Check or willingness to obtain one
- Working with Children Check or willingness to obtain one
- Full Australian working rights
- Ability to work flexible hours, including mornings, evenings and weekends when required
