Shape the future of clinical education at NECH

Exceptional clinicians deserve exceptional development.

At North Eastern Community Hospital (NECH), we're investing in the future of our workforce and we're looking for an experienced Clinical Nurse Educator to lead that journey.

This is not a role where you'll inherit a mature education program and simply maintain it.

This is an opportunity to design, influence and embed the education framework for a growing healthcare organisation that delivers acute, surgical, medical, perioperative and residential aged care services under one roof.

Reporting directly to the Director of Clinical Services and working closely with clinical leaders, you'll have the autonomy, executive support and professional trust to build a contemporary education program that strengthens workforce capability, supports career development and improves patient outcomes.

For the right person, this is an opportunity to leave a lasting professional legacy.

Why join NECH?

NECH is a not-for-profit, community-owned healthcare organisation with a proud history of delivering high-quality care across both hospital and residential aged care services.

As our services continue to grow, so too does the need for a dedicated education leader who can develop our people, support clinical excellence and help shape the workforce of the future.

What makes this role unique?

- Strategic influence with direct access to executive leadership.
- Opportunity to build and shape education systems from the ground up.
- Work across acute care, perioperative services and residential aged care.
- Lead programs that genuinely impact workforce capability and patient outcomes.
- 0.4 FTE arrangement that supports work-life balance.
- A collaborative culture where your expertise is valued and trusted.

The Opportunity As Clinical Nurse Educator, you will provide leadership across all aspects of clinical education, professional development and workforce capability.

You will work closely with managers and clinical teams to ensure staff have the knowledge, confidence and support required to deliver safe, contemporary and person-centred care.

Key areas of responsibility include:

Workforce Development

- Design and deliver organisation-wide education programs.
- Support professional growth and career pathways for nursing and clinical staff.
- Develop education strategies aligned with organisational priorities.

Graduate and Transition Programs

- Coordinate and enhance the Transition to Professional Practice Program (TPPP).
- Support graduate and early-career nurses to thrive and succeed.
- Help position NECH as an employer of choice for emerging clinicians.

Orientation and Onboarding

- Develop engaging and effective onboarding programs.
- Ensure new staff feel welcomed, supported and prepared for success.

Clinical Competence and Compliance

- Coordinate mandatory training and competency assessment programs.
- Support accreditation requirements and quality improvement activities.
- Assist managers to identify, address and close professional development gaps.

Student Education and Workforce Partnerships

- Coordinate student placements and learning opportunities.
- Foster relationships with universities and educational providers.
- Support the development of future healthcare professionals.

About You You are an experienced Registered Nurse who is passionate about developing others and committed to fostering clinical excellence.

You bring both credibility and influence, enabling you to engage confidently with clinicians at all levels of experience.

Essential

- Current registration as a Registered Nurse with AHPRA.
- Minimum three years post-registration clinical experience.
- Demonstrated experience in clinical education, facilitation or career development.
- Strong communication, coaching and stakeholder engagement skills.
- Ability to work collaboratively across multidisciplinary teams.

- Commitment to evidence-based practice and continuous improvement.

Highly Regarded

- Postgraduate qualifications in Clinical Education, Nursing Education or a related discipline.
- Certificate IV in Training and Assessment.
- Experience managing graduate nurse programs.
- Experience supporting accreditation, quality improvement or workforce development initiatives.
- Familiarity with learning management systems and competency frameworks.

What We Offer

- Competitive remuneration under the applicable award.
- Salary packaging benefits of up to $30,000.
- Flexible working arrangements.
- Professional development and leadership opportunities.
- Employee wellbeing and recognition programs.
- Free on-site parking.
- Opportunity to make a genuine organisational impact.
- A supportive and values-driven culture.
