About the opportunity The Clinical Nurse in Surgical Outpatients provides clinical expertise, support and education to both patients and nursing staff, to ensure the delivery of best practice and high-quality patient care. The role work collaboratively within the multidisciplinary team to support the coordination of care throughout Surgical Outpatients.

This position is primarily a Monday to Friday daytime role within Surgical Outpatients. However, the successful applicant has the prospect to work across other shift types such as post op weekend clinic as required in supporting service delivery.

About the Department The Surgical Clinics facilitate specialist outpatient services for Ophthalmology, General and Breast Surgery, Neurosurgery, Ear, Nose and Throat (ENT), Vascular, Facio-Maxillary, Orthopaedic, Plastic Surgery, Urology, and Preadmission services.

Surgical

Outpatients also provides Plaster Technicians, Stomal Therapist and Colorectal services within the Townsville Hospital and Health Service (THHS).

Surgical

Clinics has approximately 4000 occasions of service (OOS) per month.

Role requirements

Qualification: Bachelor of Nursing or equivalent certification relevant to the position is mandatory.

Highly Desirable: Possession of a relevant postgraduate qualification in an appropriate field is highly desirable. Such experience may be discipline specific or have a service area focus.

This is a Vaccine Preventable Disease (VPD) risk role. Hepatitis B, Measles, Mumps, Rubella, Varicella, Pertussis and Tuberculosis

Competitive salary and benefits:

We offer attractive remuneration packages and generous leave entitlements.

Salary range: $4390.00 - $4700.90 p.f. (NG6-1)

4 weeks annual leave with 17.5% loading

12.75% employer contribution to superannuation
