About the role

You'll be responsible for setting up, programming and operating CNC machinery to produce components from drawings and models. The work is diverse, with a mix of one-off parts and small production runs. This is a hands-on role focused on low-volume, varied machining work rather than repetitive production, working across a broad range of components and jobs, predominantly machining steel and aluminium.

Key responsibilities

- Set up, program and operate CNC machinery to produce components from drawings and models
- Work independently, problem-solve and take ownership of jobs from setup through to finished component
- Read engineering drawings and work to tolerances
- Machine steel and aluminium components
- Apply understanding of tooling, speeds, feeds and machining processes
- Produce quality work across a broad range of machining and engineering projects

About you





- Proven experience as a CNC machinist
- CNC milling and/or turning experience
- Ability to set up, program and operate CNC machines
- Confident reading engineering drawings and working to tolerances
- Experience machining steel and aluminium
- Good understanding of tooling, speeds, feeds and machining processes
- Ability to work independently and produce quality work
- SolidWorks experience would be highly regarded

Benefits

- $50–$55 per hour, depending on experience
- Monday to Friday, 6:00am–4:00pm
