We are seeking an experienced CNC Milling Operator to join our manufacturing team. The successful candidate will have hands-on experience operating CNC milling machines, with a solid understanding of Mazatrol-controlled equipment, machining processes, tooling, workholding, inspection, and production requirements.

Experience with CNC turning, including Mazak and Mori Seiki machines, sub-spindles, bar feeders and live tooling, will also be highly regarded.

The role involves setting and operating CNC machinery to produce precision components in accordance with engineering drawings, specifications and quality requirements.

Key Responsibilities

- Set, operate and monitor CNC milling machines to manufacture precision components.
- Read and interpret engineering drawings, work instructions and machining specifications.
- Select and install appropriate cutting tools, workholding and fixtures.
- Load and set tools, offsets, work coordinates and machining parameters.
- Operate Mazatrol Smooth G controlled CNC machinery.
- Make machine adjustments and tool offset corrections during production to maintain component quality.
- Monitor machining processes and identify tool wear, dimensional variation and potential machining issues.
- Conduct in-process and final inspection using appropriate measuring equipment.
- Use micrometers, verniers, bore gauges, height gauges and other precision measuring equipment.
- Complete production documentation, inspection records and other required paperwork.
- Maintain a clean, safe and organised work area.
- Perform routine machine checks and basic operator-level maintenance.




- Identify machining problems and work with supervisors, programmers or engineers to resolve them.
- Follow all workplace health and safety, quality and production procedures.
- Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives and efficient production practices.

- Mazatrol Smooth G Controller
- Vertical machining centre

- Mazatrol Smooth G Controller
- Horizontal machining centre
- Mazak HCN-5000
- Mazatrol Smooth G Controller
- Horizontal machining centre

Experience with Mazatrol programming, editing and conversational machining functions will be highly regarded.

CNC Turning Equipment

While the primary focus of this position is CNC milling, familiarity with CNC turning equipment is desirable.

Skills and ExperienceEssential

- Experience setting tool offsets and work coordinates.
- Ability to perform dimensional inspection using precision measuring equipment.
- Understanding of tolerances, surface finish and quality requirements.
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to producing quality components.
- Ability to work independently as well as part of a production team.
- Strong safety awareness and a reliable approach to work.

Desirable
- Experience with Mazatrol Smooth G controllers.
- Experience operating Mazak VCN, HCN or similar vertical/horizontal machining centres.
- Familiarity with Mazatrol conversational programming and program editing.
- CNC turning experience.
- Experience with Mazak and Mori Seiki CNC lathes.
- Familiarity with Fanuc-based G-code controls.
- Experience with bar feeders, sub-spindles and live tooling.
- Basic CNC program editing and troubleshooting capability.
- Experience machining a range of materials and precision components.

Pay: $35.00 – $38.00 per hour Expected hours: 38.0 per week
