About the role

Gunther Engineering is seeking a skilled CNC Machinist / Programmer / Operator to join our engineereing team in Gillman, SA 5013. This is a part-time position that could grow quickly into a full time role for the right person.

In this role, you will be responsible for operating CNC and Manual machines. You will be required to produce precision machining, components and parts that meet our exacting standards for our diverse client base.

Key responsibilities

- Operate machine tools including lathes, milling machines and drilling equipment to manufacture precision components according to technical specifications and drawings
- Set up, programme and operate CNC machinery.
- Interpret engineering drawings, blueprints and work orders to understand precise machining requirements and tolerances
- Perform measurements and quality checks using precision measuring instruments such as micrometres, callipers and gauges to ensure components meet specifications
- Prepare workpieces and secure them in machines using appropriate clamping and holding devices
- Select appropriate cutting tools, speeds and feeds for various materials and machining operations

What we're looking for

- Proven experience as a Fitter and Turner or Machinist, ideally with 3+ years in a manufacturing or engineering environment
- Knowledge of materials, cutting tools and machining techniques for various materials including metals and alloys




- Excellent attention to detail and a focus on producing high-quality work to precise tolerances
- Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to work both independently and as part of a team
- Relevant qualifications such as a Fitter and Turner trade certificate or equivalent Engineering vocational qualification are preferred
- Current Australian driver's licence is required
- Current Forklift licence a bonus
