Graduate Intern in Paintings Conservation, QAGOMA.

We are seeking applications for a 12-month temporary role (with possibility of extension) for a Conservation Graduate Intern, Paintings.

This is a development position for a qualified, emerging paintings conservator, located in Brisbane/Kurilpa.

The role supports the activities of the QAGOMA Paintings Conservation section and aims to develop skills in preventive conservation, preparation of paintings for exhibition, storage and loan, condition reporting, updating collection management documentation, installation and de-installation of works of art, treatments and participation in research projects.

This role would suit an emerging conservator, recent or pending graduate with qualification in the conservation of cultural materials who is interested in working with a State Gallery collection.

Mandatory Qualifications

- It is a mandatory minimum requirement for a skilled officer to possess a minimum level Bachelor degree conferred by a recognised university.

- To be eligible for appointment to this position you must possess relevant qualification/s (the minimum as stated above) in the conservation of cultural material.
