Construction Cadet – Commercial Construction

KeyBuild Services is a family-owned construction company delivering a diverse range of construction packages across major Tier 1 projects throughout South-East Queensland.

We are looking for a Construction Cadet who wants more than simply observing projects from the sidelines.

This role offers genuine hands-on experience across the construction lifecycle, working directly with our estimating, project and management teams to help coordinate and deliver multiple live projects.

The opportunity :

As your experience develops, you'll gain exposure across:

- Estimating, tendering and take-offs
- Design coordination and RFIs
- Procurement and subcontractor engagement
- Contracts, variations and cost management
- Programming and project coordination
- Site delivery and client interaction
- Quality, defects and project closeout

KeyBuild operates across a broad range of packages including site establishment, temporary works, general building, fitout, heritage, joinery, civil/FRP, FF&E;, façades, metalworks, ceilings and partitions, as well as project management, design engineering, logistics and procurement.

Real project experience

Our team has delivered works across projects including Queen's Wharf, Logan Hospital Expansion, Heritage Lanes, Queensland Parliamentary Annexe, The Glasshouse and the Queensland Train Manufacturing Project,



working alongside leading contractors including Multiplex, John Holland, Lendlease, Hutchinson Builders, Mirvac and Built.

You'll gain exposure to the standards and complexity of Tier 1 construction, while working in a smaller team where you can take ownership and see the direct impact of your work.

Career progression

We want this role to develop into much more than a cadetship.

As your capability grows, so will your responsibility, with potential career pathways into:

Project Coordination / Contracts Administration → Project Management / Estimating → Senior Management

You'll work directly with experienced construction professionals and gain an understanding of how projects are won, planned, commercially managed and delivered.

About you :

We're looking for a current student or recent graduate in Construction Management, Quantity Surveying, Project Management or a related discipline who:

- Has a genuine interest in commercial construction
- Is organised, proactive and willing to learn
- Wants both office and site experience
- Is comfortable taking responsibility
- Wants to build a long-term career in the industry

Previous construction experience is advantageous but not essential. Adaptable arrangements can be considered around university commitments. Why KeyBuild?
