About the role

Elko Group is seeking a skilled Contract or Part Time Welding Fabricator to assist our team in Unanderra, NSW. This is a contract position that offers the opportunity to work on diverse welding and fabrication projects in a fast-paced, professional environment. You will be responsible for producing high-quality welded components and assemblies whilst adhering to strict safety and quality standards.

Key responsibilities

- Performing manual and semi-automatic welding using various welding techniques including MIG, TIG, and laser welding
- Reading and interpreting technical drawings, blueprints and welding specifications accurately
- Preparing and positioning materials, components and workpieces for welding operations
- Inspecting welded joints and components to ensure they meet quality standards and specifications
- Operating welding equipment and machinery safely and efficiently
- Maintaining accurate records of work completed and materials used
- Adhering to all health and safety regulations and company policies
- Communicating effectively with team members and supervisors regarding project progress and any issues arising
- Performing routine maintenance on welding equipment as required
- Contributing to continuous improvement initiatives within the fabrication team

What we're looking for

- Proven experience as a welding fabricator,



preferably previous experience in stainless steel welding
- Proficiency in multiple welding processes including MIG & TIG
- Strong ability to read and interpret technical drawings and specifications
- Excellent attention to detail and commitment to producing high-quality work
- Sound understanding of welding safety procedures and quality control standards
- Physical capability to perform manual welding tasks and work in wide-ranging conditions
- Reliability and strong work ethic with the ability to meet project deadlines
- Good communication skills and the ability to work effectively as part of a team
